'Real possibility' Browns start new QB in Week 13

The Browns have a serious quarterback problem after losing QB Deshaun Watson for the season, and one NFL insider believes they could have a new starting quarterback this week.

In Cleveland's Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos, QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson left with a concussion and never returned. That leaves his status for Week 13 and who will be starting for the Browns in question.

"I think there's a real possibility they could go to Joe Flacco this week," ESPN's Adam Schefter said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "He's been impressive when he went in there and worked out. ... PJ Walker did a good job while he was there, but I think they might be comfortable with Flacco."

It would certainly be a quick turnaround for Flacco, who just signed with the team last Monday, but he has all the experience he needs to step in if needed. Cleveland is the 38-year-old's fifth team since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2008.

But Flacco is only focused on learning the offense and proving he still has what it takes.

"You really have to focus on the daily part of it and taking it day by day," Flacco told reporters. "It's coming in here and grinding away and trying to learn the offense ... and also becoming part of the team, prove that I belong."

If Flacco does get an opportunity to start and proves he still has some gas left in the tank, he may just get the nod for the rest of the season. Flacco led the Ravens to a win in Super Bowl XLVII and was even named the MVP of the game.

The Browns still have Super Bowl aspirations with a defense that is allowing the fewest total yards per game (247.9). Flacco could be exactly what Cleveland is missing to get back on track.
