Reason Travis Kelce Is 'Reconsidering' Retirement Decision

Super Bowl LIX could very well have been Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce's final game of what has been an iconic NFL career.

This is after Kelce himself confirmed that he is currently taking the time to consider his options moving forward. According to Kelce, he will use the coming weeks to come to a decision on whether or not to return next season or to retire from the sport altogether.

A new report from Us Weekly has now shed light on Kelce's thought process as he approaches one of the most important moments of his career.

Apparently, the Chiefs' heartbreaking loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl has factored in on Kelce's big decision.

According to Us Weekly's source, the All-Pro tight end “was hoping he’d end his career on a high.” However, considering how the Chiefs were completely blown out in the Super Bowl, 40-22, Kelce is now “reconsidering what he wants moving forward. He may come back next season,” said Us Weekly's source.

Whatever the case might be, Kelce is likely to make his decision in the next few weeks. Reports have indicated that the Chiefs have given him until March 14 to make his decision so as to give the team ample time to potentially replace him if he decides to retire.

Kelce reportedly also has an $11.5 million roster bonus in his current contract that will potentially kick in on Mar. 15, thereby giving the Chiefs more motivation to get an answer from the 10-time Pro Bowler before the said deadline.
