Report addresses Justin Herbert’s injury status

Things have gone from bad to worse for the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chargers lost 24-7 to the Denver Broncos at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. on Sunday in Week 14 to fall to 5-8. Justin Herbert suffered a finger injury while throwing a pass in the second quarter.

Herbert was replaced in the game at quarterback by Easton Stick, who went 13/24 for 179 yards.

After the loss, Chargers head coach Brandon Staley told the media that Herbert suffered a fractured right index finger. The Chargers quarterback will undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

With the team 5-8, a fractured finger on his throwing hand could be enough to end Herbert’s season.

This is the second time this season Herbert suffered a tough finger injury. He suffered a fractured finger on his non-throwing hand in a Week 4 win over the Raiders in October and played through it.
