According to several reports, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield may be traded to a new team before day two of the NFL Draft ends.
According to The Athletic's Joe Person , the Carolina Panthers are discussing a possible trade for the maligned Browns quarterback. Person adds that the Browns are looking for the Panthers to pick up a large percentage of Mayfield's contract in any deal. The 27-year-old is in the final year of a four-year, $32.6 million contract. Mayfield is scheduled to make $18.8 million in base salary in 2022.

While Mayfield and the Panthers have been linked in several rumors, ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin reports Mayfield could be headed to Carolina before the conclusion of the NFL Draft.
Last season, Mayfield started 14 games, going 6-8. He finished with a 60.5 completion percentage throwing for 3,010 yards and a 17 to 13 touchdown to interception ratio.
The first overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Browns, Mayfield has spent four seasons as Cleveland's starting quarterback. In 60 games, he's compiled a 29-30 record, with a 61.6 completion percentage, throwing for 14,125 yards, 92 touchdowns, and 56 interceptions.
