Report: Bears make former Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles available for trade

The quarterback market appears to be drying up, but the Chicago Bears are putting a fairly accomplished name on offer all the same.

The Bears have discussed trades involving backup quarterback Nick Foles, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. The Bears signed Trevor Siemian to back up Justin Fields on Friday, making Foles expendable.

Foles has been on the trade block for a while. He was buried behind Andy Dalton and Fields on the Chicago depth chart in 2021, as the team failed to find a suitor for him. He still started and won a game for the team, however.

The 33-year-old Foles probably isn’t on anyone’s radar as a starter anymore, as he has never looked great since leaving Philadelphia in 2018. Based on what he said when on the trade block last year, it might be tough for the Bears to find a good landing spot for him.
