Report: Bears not currently shopping three-time Pro Bowler Robert Quinn

NFL's Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday that teams were "sniffing around" on three-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Robert Quinn for a possible trade. The insider had a follow-up report on Wednesday morning, though, that indicates the chances of Quinn being moved are slim.

Quinn was selected by the then-St. Louis Rams as the 14th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and spent the first seven seasons of his career with the franchise. After a solid first two years in the league, the North Carolina product bust out with a monster 2013 campaign, recording what are still career highs in tackles (57), quarterback hits (34), tackles for loss (league-leading 23), sacks (19.0) and forced fumbles (seven), while earning First-Team All-Pro honors and his first Pro Bowl nod as well.

The 31-year-old Quinn made another Pro Bowl back in 2014 after posting 46 tackles, 20 quarterback hits, 13 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, a career-high six passes defended and a league-best five forced fumbles, before he was limited to eight games in 2015 and nine contests in 2016. He spent his final season with the Rams in 2017 before being traded to the Miami Dolphins in March 2018.

A Ladson, S.C., native, Quinn was with the Dolphins for one season and the Dallas Cowboys in 2019, before joining the Bears ahead of the 2020 campaign. Two seasons ago, Quinn played on a career-low 55% of his team's defensive snaps, registered a career-low 2.0 sacks and made just 20 tackles, but he bounced back in a big way in 2021.

Last year, the 11-year pro made his third Pro Bowl (first since 2014) and was named Second-Team All-Pro, after going for 49 tackles, 22 quarterback hits and 18.5 sacks. Quinn's 101.0 career sacks in 156 games played have him ranked sixth all-time among active players.
