Joe Burrow was sacked more than any quarterback in the NFL last season, and the Cincinnati Bengals have made another big move to address that issue.
Former Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle La’el Collins has agreed to a deal with the Bengals, according Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Bengals have made bolstering their offensive line a priority this offseason, as they previously signed Ted Karras and Alex Cappa. Karras, a former New England Patriot, is expected to be Cincinnati’s starting center.
Dallas released Collins this week after trying to trade him. The 28-year-old missed time last season due to a suspension and was out all of 2020 with a hip injury, but he is one of the better tackles in the NFL.
It’s remarkable that Burrow was able to lead the Bengals to the Super Bowl given how poorly they protected him last year. He should get hit a lot less in 2022 with the additions the team has made.
