Report: Broncos Retain WR Lil'Jordan Humphrey on One-Year Pact

The best name in Denver football is back for another go.

Per beat reporter Chris Tomasson, the Broncos re-signed free-agent wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey to a one-year contract worth a nonguaranteed $1.125 million on Wednesday.

“He’s very excited,’’ Humphrey’s agent told Tomasson. “(Humphrey) has complete faith in Coach Payton. He really avoided the open market. He loves the team.”

Undrafted in 2019, Humphrey spent his first three NFL seasons with head coach Sean Payton's Saints before a one-and-done 2022 stint in New England. He reunited with Payton last April and appeared in all 17 games for the Broncos, catching 13 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns.

"He’s big. He’s physical. He’s strong," Payton said of Humphrey last December. "I’m a little bit more familiar with him—but the confidence and the consistency. He’s had a good season especially as we acquired someone like him. He’s done a good job. I’m proud of him.”

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Humphrey — a terrific run-blocking receiver — should settle in as WR4 or WR5 in Denver's pass-catching corps, which also features Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Brandon Johnson, and Jalen Virgil.
