The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are waiting on a decision from linebacker Lavonte David on whether or not he’ll be returning for the 2026 season.
A report from JoeBucsFan.com, that David had arthroscopic knee surgery during the offseason.
The knee in question had been an ongoing issue for David with him having the knee drained weekly last season.
JoeBucsFan.com reports that the surgery was successful but didn’t have a timetable for David’s recovery. David stated earlier this offseason that he still had some football left in him. That’s basically a “I can’t confirm, nor deny” statement from David.
If David does decide to play in 2026, there’s little doubt it would be with anyone else besides the Buccaneers.
Does this new development change the Buccaneers view on David? I guess it has to factor in, but if David is playing, the Bucs should be all-in.
