After missing more than two months with ankle and shoulder injuries, Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving reportedly underwent offseason surgery for his shoulder.

JoeBucsFan.com reports that Irving had shoulder surgery after the season concluded, but his recovery isn’t expected to majorly affect his involvement in the offseason program.

Irving was sidelined for seven games, missing Weeks 5 through 12. He made his return in Week 13, playing in the final six games of the season, including five consecutive starts.

After a standout rookie season where he gained 1,122 rushing yards at 5.4 yards per carry, Irving’s production dipped in 2025 to 588 rushing yards, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry.

Irving will ultimately be the starting running back in 2026, as Rachaad White is anticipated to leave in free agency, assuming no major changes are made by the Buccaneers this offseason.
