It appears that the Kansas City Chiefs could be holding onto their highly-coveted offensive coordinator.
As I reported, Bieniemy and Reid had their meeting in an informal fashion while Reid was in California. Should Bieniemy find a better fit he can still take it, but again, Chiefs anticipating he'll return for 2022.

Bieniemy's coaching career started with 10 years ago as a running backs coach from 2001 to 2010, first at Colorado, then at UCLA and then for five years with the Minnesota Vikings. The 52-year-old re-joined Colorado as their offensive coordinator for the 2011 and 2012 seasons, before he was hired by the Chiefs as their running backs coach in 2013.
Bieniemy stayed in that role with Kansas City until 2017 and has been their offensive coordinator for the past four campaigns.
The New Orleans, Louisiana native has spent much of the young off-season seeing his name frequently featured in rumors as a potential head coach. However, with the Houston Texans and New Orleans Saints staying in-house and promoting coordinators Lovie Smith and Dennis Allen to their head-coaching positions earlier this month respectively, that leaves all 32 NFL teams with their leaders in stow for the 2022 season.
