Report: Dak Prescott Feels ‘Attacked’ By Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys Teammates Recent Comments
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made a strong statement about the team’s culture on Monday night. Dak’s comments come weeks after multiple teammates raised questions about the Cowboys’ culture following their early playoff exit to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round.

Micah Parsons thinks the culture needs to change

As previously discussed on GH, star pass rusher Micah Parsons recently said the culture in Dallas needed to change:

“We need to have way more accountability. I just think we let things slide too often because we know we’re good. That’s all about me. I want to change the culture. I want to change the identity of what the Cowboys are. Cut the extra stuff out, I just want people to lock in for 22 weeks. Seven months can change your life. And I’m ready.”

At the NFL Combine last week, owner Jerry Jones didn’t think the team’s culture was an issue. His quarterback, in the midst of contract negotiations with Jones, has management’s back on the culture war in the Cowboys locker room.

Dak Prescott feels attacked by questions about culture

During a charity event with Prescott and former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman, Prescott said he feels personally “attacked” by questions about the team’s culture. Transcription per CBS Sports:

“Yeah, the culture is high honestly, and the culture is great from my standpoint,” Prescott said. …. “My point is that’s something I’ve bragged on and took pride in. So if there’s questions of that or concerns on that, I feel attacked.

I’m sure some guys in the locker room do, but at the end of the day, it’s a business, and the way that this business plays out, people don’t get exactly what they want. There’s always sourness I guess you could say somewhere. I don’t want to make anything bigger than that.”

Is the upper management side of the Dallas Cowboys aloof?

Prescott is either aloof or tone-deaf about his teammates’ feelings about the locker room. His “I’m sure” quote came weeks after multiple players said there was a culture issue. And the loudest drummer is the star on the other side of the ball, Parsons.

The Cowboys had better hope Jones goes all-in this offseason. If they experience adversity like the Philadelphia Eagles did last season, Dallas could end its season on a horrendous losing streak, too. The Cowboys’ foundation doesn’t seem united to begin the new year.
