Report: Dallas Cowboys Address Concerns About Poor ‘Culture’; Dismiss Micah Parsons’ Complaint

As previously discussed by Sean Labar on GH, star pass rusher Micah Parsons recently said he wanted to change the Contract culture:

“We need to have way more accountability. I just think we let things slide too often because we know we’re good. That’s all about me. I want to change the culture. I want to change the identity of what the Cowboys are. Cut the extra stuff out, I just want people to lock in for 22 weeks. Seven months can change your life. And I’m ready.”

Parsons isn’t the only player to feel that way.

Stephen Jones says there isn’t a culture problem

Per Todd Archer with ESPN, Jones was asked if the Cowboys have an issue with their culture. Jones doesn’t believe they do:

“From the organization on down, we feel good about our culture. You always want to be better. I will say that. If your results aren’t winning the Super Bowl, I think everybody is saying, ‘How do you ultimately be the last man standing?’

“You’re always going to have somebody who’s going to say something that might be their particular thought process on why we may have come up short, but I don’t think in general, personally, I don’t think it’s an issue.”

Dallas Cowboys players are saying these things for a reason

Where there is smoke, there is fire. Parsons and his teammates aren’t complaining about the culture without merit. But the problem probably starts up top and with an owner who cares more about marketing the team than winning.

Stephen Jones can’t speak to that.
