REPORT: Dallas Cowboys Listening to Micah Parsons Trade Offers

Week 1 of the NFL season kicks off next week, and the Dallas Cowboys have not signed edge rusher Micah Parsons to a contract extension, which was the biggest story of the offseason. Parsons is currently on his fifth-year option and could be under contract for another two seasons, depending on whether the Cowboys decide to place the franchise tag on him. However, they are going to be looking to make a long-term contract extension.

Jerry Jones has refused to discuss with Parsons’ agent, but reportedly has agreed to a five-year contract worth an estimated $202.5 million. However, no formal offer has been made since and Jones believes the two sides have a contract agreed upon. Now, reports are saying the Dallas Cowboys are willing to listen to trade offers for the first time since this saga began. This does not mean a trade will happen, but the Dallas Cowboys want a resolution before the season starts.

Micah Parsons is one of the premier players on the defensive side of the football and this will be interesting to see how things continue to play out. What would the Cowboys want as compensation and what would a contract extension look like for a team trading for him? If a trade were to happen, the team would need at least $21.324 million available in cap space.
