REPORT: Dolphins Had Culture Issues and Bad Vibes in Training Camp

This 0-3 start for the Miami Dolphins isn’t surprising, according to some. A new report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic said on the Ryan Russillo Podcast that she was told the Dolphins had culture issues in August during training camp, and that the Dolphins are a “bad vibes team.”

Russini said;

“Even during camp, I heard about some cultural issues,” she said. “Usually, that’s a nice way to say there’s players talking up and players not buying in to the program and not doing the things that they need to do. And look, you got to figure Jalen Ramsey was maybe part of that. We’ve seen him before. We’ve seen him do it, right? He’s pretty outspoken.

“And you see him now with the [Pittsburgh] Steelers defense. That’s not great either, but he’s made some plays. So, they obviously address some of that going, ‘All right, we gotta fix some of this and get rid of some of the issues.’ But the issues are still there. And Tua’s part of it, but they need him.”

She went on to say;

“The Dolphins are in a really bad position here,” she said. “They’ve got the Bills on a short week, right? Then they’ve got this long week before they play on Monday Night Football. So, you gotta wonder if there’s gonna be changes. And I have nothing to report at this moment of hot seat, but it doesn’t look right.

Even [Mike] McDaniel on the sidelines, he doesn’t even look himself. His head was just in the call sheet, and usually he’s up with the guys. It’s just bad vibes, you know? I think it’s that simple. They’re the bad vibes team this year.”

With the Dolphins now falling to 0-3 and any chance of making the playoffs this year out the window, you have to wonder if all of the talk about Mike McDaniel fixing the “culture” in Miami all offseason was just that, talk.

We are hearing more and more reports that the culture hasn’t changed, and with a 0-3 start, the results are backing that up.

It is a foregone conclusion that McDaniel will be fired soon, whether soon is “in season” or “immediately after the season.”

His time in Miami is coming to a close.

The Dolphins organization has three major problems (excluding the owner, as there is nothing that can be done about that).

One: The general manager has overstayed his welcome and made too many mistakes to turn a blind eye to anymore.

Two: The quarterback hasn’t lived up to the 5th overall pick of the draft, and the organization overpaid him, and he isn’t living up to his contract.

Three: The head coach is really bad at his job. He isn’t head coach material.

And this Dianna Russini report is more evidence that McDaniel isn’t cut out to lead an NFL team.
