REPORT: Dolphins To Extend Brewer, Achane, & Brooks

Dan Graziano of ESPN is reporting the Dolphins are going to work on contract extensions for center Aaron Brewer, running back De’Von Achane, and linebacker Jordyn Brooks this offseason, as all three are free agents in 2027.

Those three, along with Waddle, are, in the eyes of many, the best players currently on the Dolphins roster, and all three are coming off fantastic 2025 seasons.

Graziano said: “Expect the Dolphins to work on extensions this offseason for running back De’Von Achane, center Aaron Brewer and linebacker Jordyn Brooks. Miami is under new management and likely entering something of a rebuild. But along with wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins view those three as core players and moving forward. Waddle is already signed long term, but the other three are free agents in 2027.”

Jon-Eric Sullivan did say at his Combine press conference that any extension would probably be worked on in the summer months.

Jordyn Brook was outstanding in 2025 for Miami and was named First Team All-Pro for the Dolphins. He had 183 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, and 3.5 sacks. He was Miami’s best defensive player week in and week out throughout the season and a vocal leader for this team as well.

De’Von Achane was voted to his first Pro Bowl this past season, where he had a career year in production.

Achane ran for 1.350 in 16 games and had eight rushing touchdowns. He also led the NFL, averaging 5.7 YPC this past season.

He also had 67 receptions for 488 yards and four receiving touchdowns, cementing himself as Miami’s best offensive player in 2025.

Many expect Achane to sign a contract similar to what James Cook got in Buffalo last offseason, in the neighborhood of four years for $48 million with $30 million guaranteed.

Aaron Brewer was Miami’s best offensive lineman in 2025 and was voted 2nd team All-Pro.

This past season, he was called for 3 holding penalties and 2 false starts, which is down from his 2024 season, when he had 5 holding penalties and only 1 false start.

In his two seasons in Miami, he has only missed one game, and he is the anchor of the Dolphins’ offensive line and a key piece they cannot lose after this season.
