Report: ESPN Milwaukee suspends Brett Favre's weekly radio segment amid welfare funds scandal

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre is accused of receiving $1.1 million in federal funds in a still unraveling welfare scandal in Mississippi.

Since the allegations surfaced, media and fans alike have been vocal with their criticisms toward the Green Bay Packers legend. Most recently, former teammate Sage Rosenfels took a shot at Favre.

While he has already taken an enormous hit publicly, brands connected to the maligned former quarterback are beginning to create some distance.

According to A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports, ESPN Milwaukee has "paused" Favre's weekly radio appearance on the station.

Good Karma Brands, which owns ESPN Milwaukee, among other stations, is the first media outlet to take action against Favre, who also contributes to Sirius XM and 33rdTeam.com.

"The spokesperson for Good Karma Brands did not cite the reason for keeping Favre off the air," Perez wrote. "Favre still remains on ESPN Milwaukee's website, which lists his last appearance as Sept. 12."

Earlier this month, text messages emerged from a civil lawsuit connecting Brett Favre and former Mississippi governor Phil Bryant to the welfare scheme.

Favre played college football for Southern Mississippi State before embarking on a 20-year NFL career.

While Favre reportedly remains on "the radar" of investigators in Mississippi, he hasn't officially been charged with a crime.
