Adam Gase officially is on the hot seat.
The 0-2 New York Jets will be monitoring Gase's performance this week against the Indianapolis Colts, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Mortensen adds that the team's upcoming game against the Denver Broncos could be "more telling."
Jets coach Adam Gase is under more intense scrutiny this week and it's not just the external noise from media or fans. League sources say even w/ injuries, Jets' brass monitoring this week closely, today vs. Colts but perhaps more telling is TNF vs. Broncos. Interesting watch.

Gase has been under scrutiny while failing to help his team take a step forward with Sam Darnold at quarterback. In his first season with the club, Gase went 7-9, and he isn't out to a great start this year.
The Jets have suffered a slew of injuries, particularly on offense, but the club feels like Gase should be getting some better results regardless.
If Gase ends up getting fired, the Jets will be searching for their third head coach in as many seasons.
