Report: Nakobe Dean left Eagles locker room wearing a walking boot after picking up an injury in week 1

The Eagles were just about able to emerge victorious in Foxborough this weekend, but it certainly wasn’t pretty. Amidst all the chaos was an injury suffered by Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean. While the extent of that injury isn’t known, it’s been reported by a few writers (Ed Kracz and Jeff McLane) that he left the locker room wearing a walking boot.

Nakobe Dean suffers injury in week 1

Nakobe Dean left the game in the third quarter after getting tangled up in a tackle. He had been a key cog in Philadelphia’s defense up to that point, amassing 7 total tackles. This was always going to be a big year for the Georgia product, who has very much been left to his own devices as the starting MIKE linebacker.

The second-year player had injury concerns coming out of college, but these were totally unrelated to the one he suffered today.

We’ll likely get an update on the severity of the injury tomorrow when the Eagles’ coaches meet with the media, but Ed Kracz noted on Twitter (or X, or whatever), that Nakobe mentioned that the trainers didn’t want him walking on the foot. The good news is, he is able to walk on it. But whether he’ll be ready to play against the Vikings on Thursday is another question entirely.
