Although he is now a Super Bowl champion, Odell Beckham Jr. is facing a lengthy rehab after his second left ACL tear. That much is reflected in the expectations for his potential return timetable.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported on Thursday that the Los Angeles Rams receiver is expected to “ready and able to play” by the beginning of November. Rapoport adds that ACL tears in the NFL generally take six-to-nine months, which would put Beckham on the later end of the spectrum.
Beckham suffered the injury during the Super Bowl on Feb. 13. The 2022 season begins in early September, which means that an early November return would keep the three-time Pro Bowler sidelined through roughly Week 9. Complicating matters is that Beckham is also a free agent this offseason, but the Rams seem to want him back.
When he first tore his ACL with Cleveland in October 2020, Beckham missed the final 10 weeks of the year and returned in Week 3 of the 2021 season, roughly 11 months later. Therefore, the lengthy rehab estimates this time around make sense, especially since it is a repeat injury to the same knee.
