Report: Packers Have Had Interest In Terrace Marshall Jr.
Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers are in a difficult position with the NFL trade deadline right around the corner.

Green Bay fell to 2-4 with their Week 7 loss to the Denver Broncos. They are in a rebuild of sorts following Aaron Rodgers’ departure, but the Packers may still opt to add ahead of the deadline.

With the Packers wanting to provide Rodgers’ replacement Jordan Love with extra receiving help, Carolina Panthers WR Terrace Marshall Jr. has emerged as a trade candidate for Green Bay.

“Green Bay is definitely interested in adding another weapon for Jordan Love,” a former NFL executive told NFL Analysis Network. “It may not be a superstar though. I know Terrace Marshall Jr. is a player they have had interest in.”

As the former executive said, the Packers may not add a star. However, Marshall would be an intriguing trade candidate given his age. At just 23-years old, Marshall could factor into Green Bay’s future plans amid their current rebuild.

The LSU product was selected in the 2021 NFL Draft by the Panthers. He appeared in 13 games (three starts) during his rookie season, recording 17 receptions for 138 yards. Marshall took a step forward in 2022, posting 28 catches for 490 yards and a touchdown across 14 games (nine starts).

He’s reeled in 16 receptions to go along with 114 yards over five games (two starts) so far in 2023. The Panthers are the NFL’s worst team though, currently sporting an abysmal 0-6 record.

Trading a young player like Marshall may not be an ideal decision for Carolina. Marshall could draw a significant trade return from a team interested in receiving help like the Packers though.

Packers fans can expect the team to try to add receiving help prior to the NFL trade deadline. It remains to be seen whether or not Green Bay can acquire Marshall, however.
