Report: Patriots signing QB Ian Book to practice squad

The New England Patriots are signing former Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book to the team’s practice squad, per Doug Kyed.

In 2021, the New Orleans Saints used a fourth round pick on Book. He then went on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, making the Patriots his third team in as many NFL seasons.

The Patriots have had some issue finding a backup quarterback this season, after sending Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham to the practice squad initially, before bringing in Matt Corral who later left without notice.
