Report: Rams 'definitely open to trading' All-Pro wide receiver

The Los Angeles Rams (2-4) have not had the start to their season that they likely imagined, and that has many believing they could be sellers before the Nov. 5 trade deadline.

The Rams are coming off a 20-15 win over the Las Vegas Raiders (2-5) in Week 7, but NFL insider Dianna Russini still thinks they could be willing to move on from one of their best players.

"If the Rams are willing to take on the salary, which I've heard that they're willing to do, they are definitely open to trading Cooper Kupp," Russini said on the "Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz." "So we'll see if they'll be able to get a deal done."

Kupp has dealt with several injuries over the past few years. This season has been no different as he's played in just two games while dealing with a high ankle sprain.

However, the former All-Pro wide receiver seems to have a good chance to make his return this week after being listed as a full participant on Monday's practice report.

Kupp would provide a massive boost to Los Angeles' offense. When healthy, he has proven to be one of the best wide receivers in the league with 585 catches for 7,213 yards and 52 touchdowns in his eight-year NFL career.

If the Rams are willing to move from the often-injured 31-year-old, though, several wide receiver-needy teams would be interested.

One obvious one would be the NFL's last undefeated team in the Kansas City Chiefs (6-0).

While they have lost several wide receivers to injuries this season, Russini doesn't believe they could make the financials work.

"I just don't think Kansas City even has enough money, even if the Rams were to take on some of that salary," Russini added. "That's been the problem and the reason why they haven't been able to go after a Davante Adams, an Amari Cooper, like we've seen other teams be aggressive with."

If that is true, there are several other teams that would likely make the money work.

A potential Kupp trade is unlikely to happen this week as the Rams are set to host the Minnesota Vikings (5-1) on "Thursday Night Football," but if they lose their fifth game of the season in Week 8, it could turn out to be Kupp's last with the team.
