The Steelers will definitely have a new starting quarterback next season. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported former Pro Bowl passer Russell Wilson is signing a one-year, $10 million deal that could rise to $21 million with incentives.
Wilson took over as the Steelers starter for the final 11 games last season, passing for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He lit up the Bengals for 400-plus yards in a win in December, but Cincinnati got revenge to close the season for a 1-1 finish against the Bengals as a Steeler.
This adds more weight to the idea that Aaron Rodgers could be the next signal caller in Pittsburgh.
ESPN Sources: The Giants and Super Bowl-winning QB Russell Wilson reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $21 million, including $10.5 million guaranteed.
