Report: Steelers targeting Mitchell Trubisky, Teddy Bridgewater, Jameis Winston in free agency

The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely draft a quarterback this year with Ben Roethlisberger having retired, but they could also look to add an established veteran in free agency. According to one report, they already have their eye on several.

Sources told Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network that the Steelers have expressed interest in Mitchell Trubisky, Teddy Bridgewater and Jameis Winston. They will likely have competition if they attempt to sign any of the three.

Winston suffered a torn ACL at the end of October, but that does not mean he will be overlooked this winter. The New Orleans Saints are said to have interest in bringing him back.

Trubisky could also have multiple suitors. A report on Monday claimed the former No. 2 overall pick is drawing a lot of free-agent buzz and is viewed by some teams as a potential starter. The same will likely be true for Bridgewater, who is still just 29 and was fairly efficient in 14 games with the Denver Broncos last year.

The Steelers are reportedly high on at least one first-round QB prospect. However, they would probably prefer not to have a rookie start in Week 1. They could also stick with what they have on their roster, which is a plan they have hinted at in recent weeks.
