Report: Undrafted rookie Rodrigo Blankenship wins Colts kicking job

The Indianapolis Colts feel they have found their replacement for future Hall of Famer Adam Vinatieri at kicker.

According to ESPN's Mike Wells, undrafted rookie Rodrigo Blankenship has won the Colts kicking job over Chase McLaughlin.

Blankenship finished his University of Georgia career by making all of his extra point attempts and hitting on 80-of-97 field goal attempts (82.5 %).

Shortly after Vinatieri went on injured reserve last season, Indianapolis signed McLaughlin to replace him. He was 5-of-6 on on field goals and made all of his extra point attempts in four games last year.

Vinatieri had the worst season of his career in 2019 while dealing with a knee injury, so it's no surprise the Colts are moving in a younger direction with Blankenship this year.
