Reunion? Ravens Star Is Recruiting Popular Trade Target

Running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver A.J. Brown helped the Tennessee Titans make the AFC Championship Game in 2019, and the two sides could reunite in Baltimore. At their best, the two formed arguably the league’s wide receiver-running back duo and helped make the Titans perennial contenders, even though they never made a Super Bowl.

Now, with A.J. Brown likely trying to force a trade in the offseason, Henry says he’d love to reunite with his former teammate. During an appearance on the Up & Adams show, the star running back made his pitch to Brown.

“Please, A.J., come to Baltimore,” Henry said. “Let’s go get this ring. You got one in Philly, already did that.”

Derrick Henry Recruits A.J. Brown to Ravens

It is no secret that A.J. Brown is not happy in Philadelphia and would like a trade. The three-time Pro Bowler and one-time Super Bowl champion openly expressed his frustration with the organization throughout the 2025 campaign, and the Eagles now have the financial freedom to actually trade him.

Brown currently carries a $23.4 million cap hit, but trading him with a post-June 1st designation would allow Philadelphia to clear $7.04 million in cap space while also freeing up money in 2027 and 2028, when several young playmakers are scheduled to hit the open market. Seeing as Brown is entering his age-29 season and this will probably be the last chance the Eagles can get anything of value for his services, trading him makes all the sense in the world.

The Ravens, meanwhile, could use a legitimate receiver like A.J. Brown to pair with Derrick Henry. Zay Flowers is a solid WR1, but the rest of the depth chart needs some work. Rashod Bateman had a disappointing season, DeAndre Hopkins is well past his prime, and tight end Mark Andrews isn’t getting any younger.  Brown may not be a spring chicken himself, but the veteran can help this team finally get over the hump.

Even though they missed the playoffs last year, it’s safe to say Baltimore has one of the league’s most talented rosters. Quarterback Lamar Jackson is a two-time MVP, the offensive line is one of the best in football, and the defense has playmakers at every level. While they’ve come close to sniffing the Super Bowl in recent seasons, they’ve never quite made it, and A.J. Brown could be the missing piece this offense desperately needs.

Other Fits

Of course, the Ravens will not be the only team looking to trade for A.J. Brown. The wide receiver may have lost a step, but he’s still one of the league’s more coveted assets and can help a team compete for a title.

The most obvious fit is the New England Patriots. Brown entered the league with head coach Mike Vrabel, and it only makes sense for the two sides to reunite in Foxboro. The Patriots are well ahead of schedule in their rebuild, as they’re playing in the Super Bowl just one season after going 4-13. Quarterback Drake Maye is a legitimate MVP candidate, and Brown should love the idea of playing with a passer like him for the next few seasons.
