One can say the offseason for the Dallas Cowboys has been productive.
Granted, the bar wasn't set too high last offseason, but under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, Dallas has been more thoughtful regarding the coaching staff hires and which players they have brought in via free agency and the draft.
George Pickens is the "big" acquisition, coming via trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Cowboys have also signed starting-caliber players like Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders, and Jack Sanborn.
For some, if the Cowboys can stay healthy, Dak Prescott and Co. will have one of the better offenses in football. However, Bleacher Report's Brent Sobleski doesn't consider it a top-10 offense, ranking it No. 11.
"Quarterback Dak Prescott may have benefited more than any other other player this offseason thanks to the Dallas Cowboys' acquisitions," Sobleski writes. "The recent trade for George Pickens finally gives the Cowboys a legitimate WR2 after CeeDee Lamb led the NFL in targets over the last two seasons.
"Dallas also features an all-new backfield with veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, as well as rookies Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah. Lastly, Prescott needs to stay healthy after finding his way to injured reserve last season with a hamstring that required surgery. With Prescott in this reworked lineup, the Cowboys can cook."
The receiver room has gotten a significant upgrade, and you could say the run game and offensive line, too.
But it all has to mesh together.
Right now, all we can do is project what we "think" will happen, and based on last season, it is fair to assume Dallas will have a better offense simply because injuries hopefully aren't as crippling.
There is no denying the talent that offensive coordinator Klayton Adams and Schottenheimer have to work with, but we haven't seen it with real NFL bullets flying yet.
And until we do, the jury will be out on what this new-look Cowboys offense, led by Prescott, can become in 2025.
