It’s a new era for the New England Patriots, one that running back Rhamondre Stevenson wants to be part of.
After selecting Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick, and adding two rookie wide receivers to his supporting cast throughout the 2024 NFL Draft, the Patriots have done a nice early job of building around the quarterback they hope becomes the future of the franchise.
While Stevenson is entering the final year of his contract, the 26-year-old hopes to spend his foreseeable future in a Patriots uniform.
“I love Boston. I love the Patriots. I love the organization,” Stevenson said on Tuesday, via Mark Daniels of MassLive.com. “Yeah, I’d love to be here for [a] countless amount of years.”
Now that the NFL Draft is over, and the Patriots have the most cap space remaining in the entire league, Stevenson says that he believes contract extension talks could begin soon.
Since being chosen by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Stevenson has rushed for 2,265 yards with 14 touchdowns, while averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
