For the Detroit Lions, the 2025 NFL season didn't end the way they expected.
They were bounced by the Washington Commanders in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
That early exit came after a regular season where they had the NFC's best record with 15 wins and put together one of the best offensive seasons in league history.
One rival coach seems to think that the regular season performance is more indicative of where the Lions currently stand than the playoff disappointment.
During an appearance on "Up & Adams", Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur called the Lions "the class of the NFC."
"Detroit... right now, they're the class of the NFC."

The Lions proved they were exactly that during the 2024 regular season.
They finished with the conference's best record despite having to play in the NFL's toughest division, with the Packers winning 11 games and Vikings winning 14.
Despite that tough competition, the Lions swept the division last season.
They may face an even more difficult challenge trying to repeat as the NFC's best team in 2025.
The rest of the division has made offseason improvements and the Lions are going to face on the league's toughest schedules.
Luckily, they should have one thing they were missing when they were eliminated from the playoffs, which is a healthy roster.
LaFleur won't have to wait long in 2025 to see how his team stacks up against the "class of the NFC".
The Lions and Packers are set to meet in Green Bay during Week 1 of the upcoming season.
That matchup will serve as one of the NFL's most interesting games in Week 1 and a good measuring stick for both of these franchises.
