The San Francisco 49ers' hierarchy likely breathed a sigh of relief when Liam Coen was hired as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Coen's hiring following a back-and-forth saga allowed the 49ers to rehire Robert Saleh as defensive coordinator. Saleh was scheduled for a second interview with the Jaguars prior to Coen's appointment.
But Coen may now be about to steal a member of the 49ers' coaching staff.
The Jaguars, per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, have requested an interview with 49ers assistant offensive line coach Cam Clemmons for their vacant offensive line coach role.

Clemmons only joined San Francisco's staff last offseason having previously served as the assistant offensive line coach for the Las Vegas Raiders since 2021. He initially joined the Raiders as an offensive quality control coach in 2020.
Jacksonville's interest in him follows a statistically strong season from the San Francisco offensive line.
The 49ers had the 12th-highest Pro Football Focus pass block grade and the second-highest run block grade in the regular season.
Per Pro Football Reference, the 49ers were the eighth-best offensive line in the NFL by pressure rate allowed.
Their performance was aided by the emergence of rookie right guard Dominick Puni, who earned All-Rookie Team honors after a stellar year in which he started every game.
However, there were still issues up front for San Francisco, with the interior particularly fallible in spite of the rapid progress made by Puni, while the Niners could still serve to upgrade on Colton McKivitz at right tackle.
A lack of depth at tackle was exposed late in the season as injuries to Trent Williams and swing tackle Jaylon Moore left the 49ers in a position where they were left starting players signed off the practice squads of rival teams in the form of Charlie Heck and Austen Pleasants.
The Jaguars clearly believe the issues for the 49ers in the trenches were more related to personnel than coaching and, as a result, Clemmons could depart and continue his quick ascension through the coaching ranks.
