Former Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss revealed on Friday afternoon that he is being treated for cancer and is recovering from a major six-hour surgery.
The Hall of Famer shared his truth via Instagram Live as he walked up with the help of a cane and led by saying he is a "cancer survivor."
Moss also mentioned that they found the cancer right outside his bile duct, which is located between his pancreas and his liver.
Shortly after his announcement, the Patriots made a dual post with the NFL legend, expressing their support for the single-season receiving touchdowns leader, including multiple images of Moss' time in New England.
"We have celebrated so many tremendous catches by Randy Moss during his Hall of Fame career, but none more important than his most recent catch," the Patriots captioned their Instagram post. "Randy Moss doesn’t lose one-on-one matchups. Cancer is about to get Mossed and Patriots fans everywhere will continue to celebrate!"
Shortly after New England's message to Moss, another Patriots legend, former tight end Rob Gronkowski, left his own towards the "Sunday NFL Countdown" analyst in the comment section.
"Love ya Moss!" Gronkowski commented with a prayer emoji. "You will dominate!!"
Moss and Gronk crossed paths in New England for just four weeks during the 2010 season. The former Arizona Wildcats tight end was the No. 42 pick in the 2010 NFL draft and played four games with Moss before he was traded to the Tennessee Titans.
Moss' final game with Gronkowski and New England came against the Miami Dolphins, where he didn't record a single catch for the first time in his Patriots career.
Gronkowski went on to win three Super Bowls in New England alongside Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. But the 2007 Patriots squad with Moss that went 18-1 and fell to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl will go down as arguably the best team in NFL history to not win it all.
