Robby Anderson excited to reunite with Sam Darnold in Carolina

Sam Darnold's tenure with the Jets has come to a close, as he was traded to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for several draft picks. Along with getting a fresh start, Darnold will be reuniting with former Jets receiver Robby Anderson, who joined the Panthers last season. Anderson said he was excited that Darnold was coming to Carolina, saying that the two had "good chemistry" in New York.

"I think me and Sam had very good chemistry," Anderson told NFL Network's "Good Morning Football" to Tuesday. "I think that really stems from communication and just trust."

In their two seasons together, Anderson was Darnold's most reliable receiving target, ending up with over 1,500 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns combined over two years. Anderson had his best season as a pro with the Panthers last season, crossing 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career while also almost getting 100 receptions.

After a rough start to his career with the Jets, Darnold is hoping to get back on track with the Panthers, and reigniting that chemistry with Anderson could be a big first step. If Darnold is able to break out in Carolina, the Panthers could prove to be a sneaky playoff contender, especially with the return of a healthy Christian McCaffrey.
