Robert Griffin III Knows Which NFL Team Should Sign Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers has not yet announced his plans for the 2025 NFL season. Although he has flirted with the Pittsburgh Steelers, there's a chance he could retire this offseason.

Rodgers, 41, was released by the New York Jets earlier this year. He's coming off a 2024 season where he threw for 3,987 passing yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Apparently, he was open to playing for the Jets this fall but he wasn't given the opportunity to work things out with Aaron Glenn.

"I figured when I flew across country to meet with the Jets there was gonna be a conversation," Rodgers said. "We sat down in the office and 20 seconds in the coach said we're going in a different direction. That's totally fine but they could have just told me that on the phone."

If Rodgers chooses to play this fall, the belief is he'll most likely sign with the Steelers.

Fox Sports broadcaster Robert Griffin III, however, thinks an NFC team could make a run at the four-time MVP.

Earlier this Saturday, New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr announced his retirement from the NFL. After undergoing medical evaluations, it was determined that he has a labral tear and degenerative rotator cuff damage.

"Upon reflection of prayer, and in discussion with Heather, I’ve decided to retire from the National Football League," Carr said in a statement. "For more than 11 years, we have been incredibly blessed, and we are forever grateful and humbled by this experience. "It’s difficult to find the right words to express our thanks to all the teammates, coaches, management, ownership, team officials and especially the fans who made this journey so special. Your unwavering support has meant the world to us."

Now that Carr is out of the picture, Griffin believes the Saints should make a bid for Rodgers.

"With Derek Carr retiring from the NFL, the New Orleans Saints need to call Aaron Rodgers," Griffin wrote on X.

The idea of Rodgers suiting up for the Saints is intriguing, but he doesn't fit their timeline with first-year head coach Kellen Moore.

It's also important to note that New Orleans selected Tyler Shough with the 40th overall pick in this year's draft. The coaching staff will most likely try to develop him this season.
