The 2025 NFL Draft got underway in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Thursday night, and it was spectacular.
More than 100,000 people showed up for the first round right outside of Lambeau Field and were buzzing all night. Rounds two and three will take place on Friday night, while rounds four through seven will be on Saturday.
Pittsburgh will host the 2026 NFL Draft, which will also be a great time since the Pittsburgh Steelers, like the Green Bay Packers, have some of the best fans in the NFL.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell thought Thursday went great, but confirmed on Friday's edition of the "Pat McAfee Show" that he is considering shortening the draft since the first round took over three hours to complete.
"I started thinking last night that we gotta shorten it," Goodell said. "I'll give you guys some thoughts. You are always very creative about it. Should we have time that you can save? I'm making it up, seven-minute first round, but you can get two minutes extra if you need it. You could call it, but then you don't get it again the rest of the draft."

What if we did a 7 minute first round but you can get 2 minutes extra if you need it..

NFL fans had a lot of thoughts about this idea on social media.
"They don't need to shorten the clock. Just stop forcing teams to use the clock so that you can tell a player's life background and announce the date you are going to announce the schedule. It's drawn out for self-promotion, and that's the annoying part," one tweet read.
"The pick clock isn't the problem. The problem is that the dog and pony show doesn't keep up with the true pace of the picks. Strip out the ancillary stuff instead of delaying pick announcements and the first round immediately shortens," another tweet read.
"Or not waste time with stuff like that schedule release announcement, Roger… That could’ve waited for another time," another fan tweeted.
"1000% it needs to be shortened, it was like 3.5 hours last night. Completely ridiculous how long it took," another fan tweeted.
Whether it's that idea or something else, fans are united in the fact that they want to see the draft shortened in future years.
