Ten-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson inked a one-year deal worth $10.5 million to play for the New York Giants this season with the hopes of proving he could still be a starting caliber quarterback in the NFL.
Wilson, 36, lasted just three games as the team's starter, going 0-3. Rather than let Wilson try to work his way through his struggles, head coach Brian Daboll opted to turn to rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart to replace Wilson. Dart was selected by the team with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and since taking over has led the team to a 2-2 record.
While Wilson is no longer at the helm, he has seemingly been in good spirits off of the field. He has frequently credited his wife of nine years, Ciara, and their four kids for helping him work through this adversity. The Super Bowl champion quarterback has also put a lot of emphasis in being involved with charities off of the field and has done great work with his Why Not You Foundation.
Wilson started the foundation back in 2014 with the mission of "transforming lives through education, children’s health and the fight against poverty." As shared to X on Thursday, Wilson's foundation along with the V Foundation for Cancer Research will be able to split over $21 million that was raised via the Youth Athlete of the Year competition.
Wilson revealed just how proud he is of all of those who donated to the two causes.
"So Grateful and Honored," Wilson wrote. '$21.6 Million Raised! @ciara & I are Excited & Proud of our @WhyNotYouFdn! Blessed to give Half of it to our partners @TheVFoundation! Youth Athlete of the Year was a true success! #WhyNotYou."

As shared on the website, this year's winner, Tripp, "embodies everything we love about sports: dedication to greatness, fierce competition, and commitment to teammates and competitors alike."
For Tripp, he will receive $25,000 to invest in his future, and will also be featured in an advertisement for Wilson's brand, 3BRAND.
As for Wilson, he and the Giants will be taking on their NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in a game that will kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET and air on Fox.
