Russell Wilson claims injured hamstring is healing quickly thanks to 'Wolverine blood'

Broncos QB Russell Wilson compared himself to the superhero "Wolverine" because he too has a supernatural ability to heal. "I heal quick. It's wolverine blood or something," Wilson said in a Wednesday news conference when addressing the severity of a hamstring injury he suffered in a Week 6 loss to the Chargers.

Wilson may possess special healing abilities, but he didn't confirm if he will be ready for Sunday's game against the Jets. "If I can go. I'll go." he said.

He's listed as day-to-day on the injury report and was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, per head coach Nathaniel Hackett.

Although Wilson is trying to show his toughness, he admitted the injury bothered him saying following the loss, "It kind of got me pretty good in the fourth quarter." .

It not only affected Wilson. It also changed the dynamic of the offense. Hackett admitted he altered the play calling "a little bit," in a post-game news conference.

Wilson already received a special injection in his right shoulder after a Week 5 loss to the Colts. Perhaps the injury explain the Broncos' woes. They rank last in scoring offense.

Even though Wilson consistently tries to cast himself as a hero, he needs to get healthy. Having trainers and coaches constantly tending to your pain is a bad sign.

Also, Broncos backup quarterback Brett Rypien has some experience. His one career start was a victory against the Jets in 2020, a performance Wilson took note of on Twitter.
