The 2025 NFL offseason has been pretty exciting so far, with numerous big-time names on the move.
The Pittsburgh Steelers, who finished the 2024 season losing five straight games, saw both of their starting quarterbacks depart for New York. Russell Wilson signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the New York Giants, while Justin Fields inked a two-year, $40 million contract with the Jets.
It took nearly three months since free agency began (March 12) for the Steelers to find a replacement quarterback. But on Thursday, after many weeks of rumors, they finally did, signing Aaron Rodgers to a one-year deal.
Rodgers didn't have the best two-year tenure in New York. In his first season with the Jets (2023), he suffered a torn Achilles in Week 1, ending his season. In 2024, he missed out on the playoffs entirely, leading his team to a 5-12 record.

While Pittsburgh celebrates its new quarterback, Wilson appears to be enjoying life in New York City. Just hours after Rodgers joined the Steelers, Wilson took to social media to share an update about his new home.
Wilson shared a post from Must Do NYC noting that New York City was ranked the top city in Oxford Economics' Global City Index.
"New York City ranks as the world's best city in prestigious new ranking," Wilson's story read.
The former Seattle Seahawks star also tagged his wife, Ciara, and included two heart emojis.
New York fans are likely excited about the addition of Wilson despite his late-season struggles in 2024. The Giants had a major quarterback dilemma last year, unable to find a permanent starter.
Wilson only played in 11 games last season after suffering a calf injury in training camp. He finished completing 214 of 336 passes for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.
But the starting job may not be locked up for Wilson as the Giants also added Jaxson Dart in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. Former NFL starters Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito also are on the roster.
