Russell Wilson makes sensational play to hit Courtland Sutton for potential catch of the year

Denver Broncos (3-5) receiver Courtland Sutton came down with arguably the catch of the year in the Week 10 “Monday Night Football” matchup against the Buffalo Bills (5-4).

With Denver in the red zone clinging to a 3-0 lead halfway through the second quarter, quarterback Russell Wilson was flushed out of the pocket before heaving a prayer to Sutton in the back of the end zone. Sutton miraculously hauled in the pass, dragging his right foot to complete the catch and get credited with the 7-yard score.

Sutton’s insane body control touchdown capped off a 7-play, 52-yard drive and extended the Broncos’ lead to 9-0.

This should be a touchdown for Courtland Sutton. Holy smokes!!

To put in perspective of how impressive Sutton’s catch was, the pass had a completion probability of 3.2% when it left Wilson’s right hand. That makes it the most improbable completion of the Next Gen Stats era.

Sutton, 28, finished the half as Denver’s leading receiver, hauling in four receptions for 47 yards and the score. He’s been the most reliable target for Wilson this season, leading the team with 37 receptions for 427 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns.
