Russell Wilson and the New York Giants didn't have the 2025 NFL season they had hoped for, finishing the year with a 4-13 record, missing out on the playoffs for a third straight season. Now, Wilson sees his one-year, $10.5 million contract with the Giants come to an end, becoming an unrestricted free agent.
Wilson began his lone season with New York as its starting quarterback, playing three games and completing 65-of-110 passes for 778 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. But after a 0-3 start, Wilson was sent to the bench in favor of 2025 first-round pick Jaxson Dart, who secured a 4-10 record and was nominated for Rookie of the Year.
But Wilson has done much more outside of football during his 14-year career. In fact, he has partnered with numerous major brands, including Microsoft, Pepsi, Bose, Nike and Mercedes-Benz. He even became a minority owner of the MLS' Seattle Sounder FC. But Wilson wasn't done there, recently, adding to his off-field portfolio.
Ahead of Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, Wilson announced a new partnership with Hasbro, which features popular games and toys such as Monopoly. The former Seahawks quarterback joined the company to help promote a new version of the popular board game Guess Who?
Instead of the regular characters in the normal version of Guess Who?, the NFL edition features many of the current stars, including Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb. The NFL edition was released before the beginning of the 2025 season and was released to retail stores on Jan. 1.
"Guess Who? NFL Edition might be my new favorite board game @hasbrogames," Wilson wrote on Instagram.
Wilson will now wait until March 11 before he can sign a new contract, assuming he doesn't retire at the age of 37.
