It wasn't a perfect season for Russell Wilson. He began the year as the New York Giants' starting quarterback, but ultimately lost the role to rookie Jaxson Dart . Even when Dart missed several games due to injuries, the Giants opted to start Jameis Winston over Wilson.

He ended the year completing 69-of-119 passes for 831 yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions and a 77.4 passer rating. The 10-time Pro Bowler also rushed for 106 yards on 18 attempts.

Now in the offseason, Wilson's NFL future is in question. With an expiring contract, he is set to hit free agency on March 11. At 37 years old, it's unclear whether a team takes a chance on him or if he opts to retire.

While his time in the NFL may be nearing an end, his charitable actions are not. Wilson founded the Why Not You Foundation in 2014, which focuses on "education, children's health and the fight against poverty."

On Thursday, the Los Cabos Children's Foundation posted that, following a $2 million donation from Wilson and his wife Ciara, children and families in Baja California Sur will be gaining access to "life-changing healthcare and rehabilitation services." Wilson reposted the exciting news on X with a special message.

"We are grateful to be able to make a difference in Mexico," he wrote. "Cabo has meant the world to us over the years & with this gift we pray many families can have more memories overcoming! #WhyNotYou @WhyNotYouFdn @ciara"

As the 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year, Wilson's charitable reputation continues to grow. With a focus now on his future, his most likely role with any team moving forward would be a backup or stopgap option to help mentor a young quarterback. With Spotrac projecting a one-year, $5.7, he'd be a cheap option for anyone interested.
