The New Orleans Saints announced they have claimed RB Audric Estime off waivers from the Browns.
The Saints released K Daniel Carlson in a corresponding move.
Carlson, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Vikings back in 2018. He was in the first year of his four-year, $2,708,012 contract when the Vikings waived him a few months into the regular season.
The Raiders later signed Carlson to a contract and he finished out the year with Las Vegas. He has returned to the team on exclusive rights and restricted free agent deals each of the past two years.
Carlson was in line to be an unrestricted free agent when he signed a four-year, $18.4 million extension with the Raiders in December 2021. He then signed with the Saints for the 2026 season.
In 2026, Carlson has appeared in seven games for the Saints and made eight of 12 field goal attempts and 16 of 18 extra points.
Estime, 23, was a two-year starter at Notre Dame. He was selected with the No. 147 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Broncos.
He signed a four-year, $4.359 million rookie deal which includes a $339,124 signing bonus with Denver. He was entering the second year of that deal when the Broncos waived him during roster cuts.
The Eagles later signed him to the practice squad but cut him loose shortly after. He then signed on with the Saints but was let go with an injury designation in late September when he caught on with Minnesota’s practice squad. The Browns then signed him to their active roster in October but let him go about a month later.
In 2026, Estime has appeared in one game for the Browns and rushed nine times for 19 yards and a touchdown.
