Saunders played running back during his high school days. You could tell by his moves with the ball in his hands and how he carried the ball.
ESPN announcer Troy Aikman even noticed his attributes that looked like an RB. He's been a defensive lineman during his NFL days for the Chiefs and Saints.

The Saints lineman reached a top speed of 15.79 MPH on his INT return.
At 324 pounds, Khalen Saunders reached a top speed of 15.79 mph on his 36-yard interception, the 3rd-fastest speed by a ball carrier who weighs over 320 pounds since 2016.
