Odell Beckham Jr. is currently without a team after he was released by the Cleveland Browns on Friday, but that won't last for long. The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver will hit the waiver wire Monday and find out Tuesday if he was claimed.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, a claim is unlikely to happen due to the more than $7 million contract a team would inherit. And if Beckham does clear waivers and becomes a free agent, Rapoport highlighted the New Orleans Saints as a logical landing spot.
From @NFLGameDay: #Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr is likely to clear waivers on Tuesday afternoon, making him a free agent. There will be no shortage of suitors. But the #Saints make a lot of sense... pic.twitter.com/mZmS6ep5Mg

"[The Saints] had interest in trading for him," Rapoport said. "It didn't happen, obviously. He went to LSU as well. I would expect him to have interest there. That's just one to keep an eye on."
Earlier Sunday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Beckham is aiming to join a postseason contender, and "there could be potential issues" for any other team that claims him. While the Saints may fit the bill at 5-2, the team also lost starting quarterback Jameis Winston to a season-ending knee injury. Trevor Siemian is set to start in Winston's stead, but Taysom Hill may eventually take over after missing time with a concussion.
Beckham eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in five of his first six NFL seasons, but suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2020. In his final game with the Browns, Beckham caught just one pass for six yards.
