The New Orleans Saints have plenty of unknown regarding the quarterback position going forward. Derek Carr may return in 2025. They could look to give Spencer Rattler or a rookie a chance to prove themselves.

Regardless, the memory of Drew Brees is clearly on the minds of many of their local fans. Brees' teams were consistently elite in offensive statistics, and New Orleans has not seen that success since his retirement.

Drew Brees lives on

Some teams can't get over their ex. Others are frustration-searching. Meanwhile, fans residing in New Orleans are simply reminiscing.

According to Pro Football Reference, Drew Brees was the most viewed player page on their site during 2024 in Louisiana.

For Saints fans, they're making a smart move. Just thin good thoughts. Brees' ridiculous numbers in black and gold will bring those, while the team sees some struggles.

Earlier in the season, New Orleans dropped seven games in a row after starting out the season 2-0.

Injuries piled up, including one to QB Derek Carr, and Dennis Allen lost the roots of his locker room. Accordingly, plenty of Saints fans probably felt a sense of discomfort with the direction of the team.

Now, with Darren Rizzi as their interim HC, there's a bit more positivity around the fan base. Many of them are just glad that Allen was relieved of his duties, even though it probably came later than many hoped for amid the Saints' issues over the past two seasons.

No matter what - New Orleans will always have their legendary QB engrained in their hearts.
