A day after the New Orleans Saints officially announced the signing of former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback Jameis Winston, Winston spoke with Saints beat reporters on a Zoom call about where he is at this new stage of his career.
As documented by The Athletic's Greg Auman, the 26-year-old may soon land some new sponsorship opportunities with a local LASIK vision center if he's able to turn his career around with the Saints.

There's a lot to unpack here, such as concerns about Winston operating a vehicle before LASIK. We also can't ignore the jokes about Winston leading the NFL in interceptions thrown (30) and pick-sixes (7) in 2019 because he couldn't see his Tampa Bay targets write themselves.
Somebody should've told Winston about contacts during his stint with Tampa Bay.
Did not wear corrective lenses.

Winston also said he's changed his diet since the end of the 2019 campaign.
Jameis Winston on Zoom call with Saints media, says he's followed a Vegan diet for the last three months, said it's "changed my body drastically." Said he eats what he wants one day a week on Saturdays.

Athletes who participate in contact sports going vegan remains a polarizing subject. In September 2019, some blamed Cam Newton embracing veganism for his inability to remain healthy during seasons.
While speaking with Charlie Ward on Instagram Live on Tuesday evening, Winston said he's prepared to serve as a backup behind future Hall of Famer Drew Brees, and he's ready to humble himself and begin anew with New Orleans.
