Saints RB Alvin Kamara expects to play vs. Falcons despite foot injury

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara had a message for fantasy football owners who have him stashed on their rosters after the 25-year-old missed Thursday's practice session because of a lingering foot ailment.

"I'm alright. I'll be good," Kamara said, per Jelani Scott of the league's official website.

The Saints host the Atlanta Falcons for a divisional showdown on Sunday afternoon.

As Scott noted, Kamara first landed on the injury report because of the problem ahead of the 38-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Nov. 8. He rushed for 40 yards and a touchdown during that "Sunday Night Football" showdown, and he caught five passes for nine yards.

Kamara was also in the lineup for last Sunday's 27-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers. He tallied only 15 rushing yards on eight attempts but scored two touchdowns and added a team-best seven catches for 83 yards and a score for a hat-trick.

Saints head coach Sean Payton still hasn't said who will start at quarterback against Atlanta between former first overall draft pick Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. Future Hall of Famer Drew Brees is out for at least two weeks due to five fractured ribs on both sides of his body and a collapsed lung that he suffered in the victory over the 49ers.
