New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has had an incredible career in the NFL thus far. In nine years in the league, Kamara has played 120 games, while rushing for 7,062 yards and 61 touchdowns. He has also caught 590 passes for 4,839 yards and 25 receiving touchdowns. He won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2017 and has been selected to five Pro Bowls.

Kamara was selected by the Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft after spending the final two years of his collegiate career with the Tennessee Volunteers.

In recent years, the 30-year-old's game total has been cut due to several injuries. He suffered an ankle injury against the New York Giants last Sunday, limiting him in practice this week.

The Saints released their injury report on Friday ahead of their game against the New England Patriots on Sunday. In this report, Kamara was officially listed as questionable due to the ankle injury.

On Saturday, Kamara and the Saints received some good news, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Pro Bowl running back will likely play against the Patriots.

"Saints RB Alvin Kamara, listed as questionable for Sunday due to an ankle injury, is expected to play vs. the Patriots, per sources," Schefter wrote.

Kamara had just eight carries last week in the Saints' 26-14 victory over the Giants, as he rushed for 27 yards. He also had four receptions for 28 yards. However, he was limited in the ladder stages of the game because of his ankle injury, as Kendre Miller took the bulk of the carries.

Through five games this season, Kamara has 73 rushes for 283 yards and one touchdown. With his production, the Saints cannot afford to lose him, as they try to turn around their season after a 1-4 start.

Kamara and New Orleans will take on the Patriots at 1 p.m. ET at the Caesars Superdome on CBS. The Patriots are currently 3.5-point favorites, according to ESPN BET.
