Saints reveal why Cameron Jordan's incredible ironman streak will come to an end

Jordan entered the league in 2011 and played in every game from Sep. 8, 2011 to Nov. 13, 2022 with the lone exception being a Dec. 12, 2021 game against the New York Jets due to COVID-19 protocols.

A tweet sent on Thursday by Jordan seemingly highlighted his frustration over not playing this weekend. 

The Saints (3-7) are mired in their worst start since 2005 when the team was dislocated due to Hurricane Katrina and finished 3-13. The team drafted second in 2006, choosing USC's Reggie Bush. He, along with free-agent signee Drew Brees and a new head coach by the name of Sean Payton, ushered in the golden era of Saints football, which included the only Super Bowl in franchise history (2009).

The team doesn't have its first-round pick in the upcoming NFL draft, meaning New Orleans will face an uphill battle in making 2023 feel anything different from 2022.

Jordan, 33, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and a member of the Hall of Fame's All-2010s Team. 

He has five-and-a-half sacks this year and is second in Saints franchise history (112.5), behind Hall of Fame linebacker Rickey Jackson (123). Among active players, Jordan trails only fellow 2011 NFL Draft pick Von Miller (123.5).
