Saints star agrees to new $132 million contract

The New Orleans Saints are taking care of one of their star players.

Wide receiver Chris Olave is signing a four-year contract extension worth $132 million with the Saints, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes $90 million in guaranteed money.

Olave was entering the final season of his rookie contract, which would have paid him $15.5 million. He had been optimistic about signing a new deal, but staged a “hold-in” by refusing to take part in drills once training camp began. That, as it turned out, did not last long.

Olave is coming off his best statistical season. The former Ohio State standout caught 100 passes for 1,163 yards and nine touchdowns for the Saints last season. It was his third 1,000-yard receiving season in the first four years of his career, and he has been one of the Saints’ few consistent performers on offense since he entered the league.

The Saints went 6-11 last season, but finished the year by winning four of their last five games. That was enough for some people to expect another step forward in 2026, and a healthy and productive Olave will be essential for that to happen.
